Testimonials
As a Special Education Teacher
“Christopher supported students in the day treatment model classroom, educating students with mental health needs and social/emotional disabilities. Students trusted his instruction and were reassured by his calm manner. He taught all subjects clearly and with careful planning, and was infinitely patient while understanding just how much to challenge students. Christopher was able to create classroom community that highlighted students’ gifts while also encouraging them to support each other’s personal growth in a safe environment. Equity is a core belief of Christopher’s and a lens he uses in every interaction.”
- Kate Silver, Educational Administrator
“Christopher’s students often had very complicated lives and a big part of his [teaching] role was to work with parents, administrators, school support staff, and outside agencies in order to coordinate services for his students. Christopher was always extremely professional in his role, had his students’ best interest in mind, and served an advocate for them when dealing with school and outside agency personnel. Christopher is skilled at discovering students’ interests and tailoring projects and work to those interests. Most importantly, Christopher develops excellent relationships with his students, para-educators, and other district staff in order to meet the needs of his students.”
- Carole Johnson-Smith, K-12 Special Education Teacher Mentor
As a University Researcher and Instructor
“Christopher understands the diversity of classrooms today and he brings many tools to the classroom in addition to his breadth of academic knowledge and his past experience working with those with special needs. His ability to take extra measures for his students’ learning shows that Christopher is able to collaborate with professionals in the best interest of his students. Furthermore, Christopher is able to analyze material in exceptional ways… In 40+ years of working in higher education, I have found that Christopher is among the top 1% of all professionals when it comes to writing.”
- Ellyn Lucas Arwood, Professor Emerita
“Christopher has strong research skills in program evaluation and applied research. Through many different projects… he demonstrated competency with a wide variety of research skills that span both quantitative and qualitative analysis, including statistical analysis using SPSS; curriculum analysis; developing and conducting surveys, focus groups, and interviews; and literature reviews. Christopher pays attention to detail and has dedication to quality in his written work. He can effectively communicate with various audiences in writing, including administrators, teachers, and parents; preparing charts, tables, and infographics; as well as submissions for academic journals and conferences.”
